History of ASSF
The Archdiocesan School of San Fabian, an institution dedicated to provide quality Christian education was conceived in 1969 when the residents of San Fabian clamored for a school that would fulfill the need of the community for a formal, Catholic education. Rev. Fr. Oscar A. Aquino, then the parochial vicar at that time, conceived of such an educational institution. Thus in 1969, the Archdiocesan School of San Fabian was founded. He was supported by his confreres in the ministry: Rev. Frs. Miguel Busque, Peter Aquino, Fred Bitanga and Rufino Lopez.
The authority to run the school was delegated to the founder of the ASSF, Rev. Fr. Oscar A. Aquino, thus becoming the first Director of the school.The duties and responsibilities in managing it were given to its first principal, Mrs. Floro V. Torres.
A year after its foundation, it welcomed Sr. Carmen of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (CFIC). Her inclusion to the family of the Archdiocesan School of San Fabian added spark and inspiration as the school continued its quet to provide qulity Christian educatioin and produce able and productive citizens ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.
Mrs. Erlinda E. Rivo became the third principal of the school during the S.Y. 1979-1980. Msgr. Pedro V. Sison was the School Director from 1977-1981. Rev. Fr. Abraham R. Equig took over the directorship from 1981 to 1987. After the tenure of Mrs. Erlinada Rivo, the late Dr. Felipe S. Rimando took over as principal. Not long after, Ms. Lourdes L. Patungan became the principal.
In 1987, Msgr. Rafael S. Magno, Jr. was assigned as the Parish Priest of the Parish of St. Fabia, Pope and Martyr. He evetually became the School Directory from 1987 to 2003. In 1988, the tandem of Mr. Orlando M. Imbuido and Mr. Leonardo A. Carrera assumed office as Principal and Assistant Principal respectively.
At present the School Director is Rev. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza who is also at the same time the Parish Priest of San Fabian Parish. Mr. Leonardo A. Carrera assumed the office of Principal of the school in 2003, with Mrs. Caridad Valdez as the Assistant Principal.
